posting letters home from emails.. i dont care that i am back tracking

We arrived in Bangalore, India this past Sunday morning, around 4am. Its amazing here! Our program started in NYC. We were there for 10 days doing orientation and starting our classes. Since arriving in India, we had orientation Monday and Tues and Wed. were holidays here (one day they celebrate the women, the next the men) so we will start our classes on Thursday. The food is not really agreeing with me. My host mom is fretting a lot about my not eating, but I cant eat this food! Even the stuff she makes with no spices! So I feel bad, but i make sure to eat just the plain rice and fruits. Nihal, my host brother showed us were a lot of places were like post office/laundry/convenience store are today so now Sarah and I (another student with me) can fend for ourselves. Traffic is horrible! Reminds me a lot of the Dominican traffic so I wasnt as shocked by it, but its extremely dangerous to cross the roads. There is hardly any language barrier. Most people here speak English. There are so many different languages depending on which state your from in India, that most of them speak English even to each other. I love the animals and greenery! I have seen a camel and monkey. My goal is to pet a tiger and ride an elephant before I leave. Cliche, but the pictures will be awesome. Ha, today there was a random cow walking the wrong way down the street and it was so casual! No1 even looked twice or was trying to guide it out of the street! I am at an internet cafe and my time is about over, hope things are going well back home!!
